The Problem
While some schools offer after-school tutoring, a significant issue arises as many students are unable to stay after school due to responsibilities at home, such as caring for younger siblings. It is important to note that some at-risk neighborhoods have tutoring centers (YMCA, Boys & Girls club), but many other neighborhoods need access to such resources.

The Solution
Help Anchor seeks to bridge this gap and extend support to students in need across various neighborhoods, ensuring that every student has an equal opportunity to succeed academically.
To address this gap, Help Anchor aims to provide a solution by offering students in-home tutoring services once or twice a week. This personalized approach will not only assist them academically but also help them develop essential organizational skills.
Disorganization has been identified as a major obstacle to student success, with assignments often needing to be found or remembered in backpacks. By teaching students how to keep their weekly papers and assignments organized, we can contribute significantly to their academic achievements.
Social Impact
By providing free in-home tutoring services, Help Anchor aims to break the cycle of poverty and uplift disadvantaged communities. Our commitment to academic excellence enables students to unlock their full potential and pursue higher education and career opportunities previously considered beyond their reach. Through education, we strive to empower the students, their families, and the community at large.
Revenue Model
Help Anchor sustains its operations through strategic partnerships, grants, and donations from individuals, corporations, and philanthropic foundations that share our vision of equalizing educational opportunities. By maintaining low operational costs and utilizing technology for streamlined processes, we ensure that every dollar donated goes directly towards supporting our tutoring programs.
Future Outlook
As we expand our reach and impact, Help Anchor envisions becoming a leading force in transforming the educational landscape for low-income families in Florida. We plan to forge new partnerships, enhance our tutoring methodologies through data-driven insights, and explore digital platforms to extend our services beyond in-home tutoring.
Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of countless children, breaking barriers, and cultivating a generation of empowered individuals who will shape a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Support Us
There are over 6 million low-income students in the U.S.
Most can’t afford or lack access to private tutoring, which starts at $20 an hour and easily reaches over $100 an hour in some subjects. Without academic support, they face challenges that will limit their chances to attend college and receive a higher education.
The Results
Research has shown that well-designed tutoring programs that use volunteers and other nonprofessionals as tutors can be effective in improving children's reading skills.
Students with below-average reading skills who are tutored by volunteers show significant gains in reading skills when compared with similar students who do not receive tutoring from a quality tutoring program.
Among the features of tutoring programs associated with the most positive gains are extensive training for tutors, formal time commitments by tutors, structured tutoring sessions, careful monitoring of tutoring services, and close relationships between classroom instruction and curriculum and the tutoring services provided.
